October Results, November Goals

October Results/November Goals

Well first of all I hardly played any online poker this month ~1.5K hands, but I did come out a winner and I didn’t accomplish any goals that I set for myself last month. I started out the month in a bad mood for some reason, but by the middle of October I told myself to quite being such a pansy, because my life at the moment couldn’t be any better. I mean I have a wonderful wife, a healthy baby, a good job, great friends and I even get to go to strip clubs on occasions!!!

I have had to use some of my live roll recently to purchase a laptop, so that I can do my two favorite things in life, play poker and spend time with my family, at the same time. A friend gave me a Dell E1505 laptop that he used before he threw it across and broke the screen after a bad beat. He offered me the laptop for free, so I took it and had to invest ~$300 into it to get it back working. I now have to get a wireless router for my house, so I can sit on the john and play poker. LUCKY ME!!!

My goals for November are to get in ~5K+ hands and to start playing $200NL on Bodog. I know I can beat the game, but I just need to get my online roll to where it needs to be so that I can take a couple shots.

This month I won $260 online and lost $215 live, so I am up a net of $45.

Good luck!

Billy

And no I didn't pick out the costume.

Give me back my hat!

Landlord79 and I along with my buddy Ben, who is an online pro, made a Friday afternoon trip to play some live $1-$3NL at my home casino, Horseshoe - Bossier City. I now know what it feels like to be Landlord79 when he goes to the Boat with me. I am usually the one running hot, but he can now say that he possesses the luckbox.

Nice hat, sir!

We arrived at the ‘Shoe at about 2:30 and before we go in LL79 asks me if he could wear my lucky TwoRags.com hat that Edmond was so kind to send me and, of course, I obliged. If you’re a luckbox like me, who needs a so-called lucky hat, right? As I start walking to the table after buying my chips from the cashier I notice that LL79 already has a full buyin of $300 in the middle of the table and I haven’t even sat down yet. He gets KK on his first hand and wins about $100 before I can even bust out my iPod. I have never seen a guy look so happy in my life. I think he knew from this moment that this day would be a good one.

I never really got anything going while we were at the ‘Shoe. I was playing a very LAG game preflop and then I went to TAG post flop. I can only recall 3 hands from our very short session and they all happened back to back to back. An older fish, who is probably stuck ~$500 makes it $15 to go and I make it $45 straight with AK, everyone folds back to the old fish and he smooth calls. The flop is 925 rainbow and the fish auto pushes $143 into the pot and I have no choice but to fold my hand.

The next hand I pick up KK and open the pot for $20 straight, and of course everyone folds and I take down the nice $4 worth of blinds. WOHOOO!!!

Her first time

The very next hand I pick up QQ. The lady that LL79 mentions in his post makes it $15 to go from EP and I make it $45 straight, everyone folds back to the original raiser and she smooth calls. The flop is a lovely 3-3-5. She insta-pushes $82 into the pot and I am already thinking in my head what I should buy with her money. I can’t call quick enough and of course she turns over AA and says, “This is the first time that I have ever had these!” So in a span of 3 hands I picked up AKs, KK and QQ and I came out as a $169 loser. Boy, this game is fun.

Nice pot, LL79!

While I continue to try to win back my money that the fishies have now managed to spread around the table, I notice that LL79 is running goot and decimating the table. He is crushing the game and he actually gets 2 people all in drawing stone cold dead and wins one of the biggest pots that I have ever seen at a $1-$3NL game. Check out his trip report for details.

We end up leaving the ‘Shoe early so that we can get back home at a reasonable time. I ended up losing $215, mostly due to the AA vs. QQ hand. This is the first time since January (when LL79 and I started going to the casinos together) that I have came home a loser. I am anxiously waiting our return trip so I can get this monkey off my back.

Note to self: Don’t loan out your lucky hat to anyone again.

Weekend Grindage

Ok well I have had a pretty good weekend. Poker wise, I won a little over 2.5 BIs at my bread and butter $100NL game on Bodog. I pretty much just played ABC and ended up hitting and running on Saturday morning and on Sunday afternoon. I played probably about 3 hours of poker this weekend and won close to $250. I would say that is a good hourly rate!!!!!!

My little boy Harper was 9 weeks old today and we actually took him to church for the first time since he was born. Everyone from church was super excited to see him.

Time to go watch the Sunday Night Game. I like Denver +4.5 if anyone cares.

Bodog roll= $1,350
Total roll = $2,350

WHO DAT!!!

Saints are on a roll, everyone better watch out.

Giddy Up Cowboy!!!!

Well I finally got out of the funk that I was in I think. Today was the first time in about 3 weeks that I even opened up Bodog to play some poker. I told myself that I was going to play a short session to see if I was ready to jump into the waters of Bodog again. I played two short sessions tonight. I played one 30 minute session before supper and I played a one hour session right after supper. This was my favorite hand of the 30minute session before supper. I won about $7 in this short session.

I really hate when someone tries to check raise my CBets!!!!!

I dont know why I wasnt at full stack I usually am. I think I lost a nice pot before the hand came up and I didnt reload in time.

These guys need to learn to fear me!!!!!

The second session after dinner was a little more entertaining. I really didn't have many big pots to talk about. I just took down a couple $20 and $25 dollar pots and I ended up winning close to $95 for the night.

I was currently on a 4 BI downswing, so this little win helped boost my confidence.

I currently am sitting at $1,100 on Bodog after having to withdraw some money to finance my little strip club excursion in New Orleans. I still have $1,000 in my live roll that I hope to put to use really soon.

So my total BR stands at around $2,100.

I got a big trek in front of me if I want to reach my goal by Jan08. Wish me luck!!!

Oh and by the way Bodog has gotten 400% better on cashing out. I requested and received my paper check through FEDEX in 4 business days total. I now can say that I LOVE BODOG AGAIN. It used to take close to 20 business days. Mmmmmm good.

Good Luck

Depressed...

Guys I am in a weird mood. I don't know what my problem is. I don't have any drive to play any poker. I haven't played online in about a week. I kinda think it has to do with me being so stressed out with everything going on in my life right now. I haven't been doing much when I get home from work besides sitting around with my wife and Harper and enjoying their company.

I recently got back from a bachelors trip for a buddy of mine that was in New Orleans. We ate at some nice places like The Red Fish Grill and The Bourbon House. We went to a couple of strip clubs, one was Ricks Cabaret and I cant recall the other one. We also went to a Saints game which they lost on a last second 52 yd field goal.

Guys I hope I start to feel better soon. I just wish that I knew what was going on in this body of mine. I feel like someone killed my dog.

Keep me in your prayers.

Billy
