Bitching and moaning

Even if that something is just a $44 6am tourney with 59 runners. I actually was telling deeb when i joined it i was playing it so that i could just finally have a win. Sure enough it was super super soft and I was able to run people over when play was tight and especially shorthanded when almost no one adjusted. The win for was like $850 or so which is by no means steller but nothing to snub either. Also anything to get closer to out of makeup i will take. Infact i will probably start playing 20/180s on stars during my hours when not alot of tournies are going on (like mid afternoon). This way i can get a low variance way of hopefully atleast breaking me even through the other tournies i fail to cash until i can hit a big score or atleast that is my theory (i have a very good record of crushing the 180s on stars).
So it is now 4:00 AM on sunday and i have to play the warmup in 9 hours. However i just woke up, 2hrs ago. So i am in an interesting spot, as around 11pm or so im gonna start getting tired. I think my strategy will be to no to register for anything after the mulligan at around 7:05pm. This way unless i go deep in stuff it won't matter and i can go to bed when i'm tired. However should i be making a deep run in any of the sundays i have some red bull plus the adrenaline should keep me up. It's not perfect and my plan had originally been to stay up all the way till 10pm last night however i wasnt able to make it past 5pm (however realistically i was aiming for 7-8pm which i could of done if i really tried or had something keeping me up.
Anyway here's hoping for a good sunday where i win a bunch of money instead of slipping 2k deeper into makeup
So just played my first sunday under the wafflecrush banner and was looking to get off to a good start. Now obviously i know that it is a sunday and im bound to lose money most the time and often alot, still i wanted to just put out a good performance. I feel like I played probably some of the best poker i've played in awhile and the break i've had and talking to shaun deeb has also helped. I'm playing a stronger more aggressive game and am making fewer mistakes. This is shown by the fact that i built alot of big stacks in tournies. Sadly i only cashed 2 of the 15 or so tournies i played (the sunday mill being one of them however). I just busted in tons of them on the bubble to races or sick beats for often huge stacks. I was even CL in the mulligan for awhile but would eventually bust in a monster pot with QQ in the small blind vs AK of the button.
I did get disheartened by some of the beats and i still have some leaks that im working on noting and then talking to players about. I feel very strong about my early game and i feel like my end game (what i've gotten to see of it) is good however still a bit tight (which is probably partly due to not cashing much and looking to not screw up). I also think im playing great on the bubble which is often part of why im taking huge suckout beats on the bubble. That said that is the only part of my mid game that I'm currently very pleased with. I've had a number of tournies where i felt like i let myself bleed down way too much. I think this is a leak in my game for sure that im hoping to discuss with some players who i respect. Still I didnt do too horrible today (monday) with cashing a few tournies and while still a losing day it's not due to me playing poorly.
Going to go back to columbia tomorrow so I don't know if i will play tuesday night cause I might not sleep before leaving but otherwise I def will. Also thursday is my 22nd birthday so im looking forward to going out with some friends there for sure.
This is a post i made on 2+2, thought i'd share it here:
So I've often thought of these sort of scenario's and i thought i would ask OOT what their thoughts are on this sort of subject. Let's assume you could send a highly trained seal team back in time to England in the year 1700 when they were a world powerhouse. They understand the times and the language. They are instructed to topple the government and install a different puppet ruler (let's assume that this is someone from our time period who is capable of pretending to be a current era noble). So just killing the ruler and causing chaos isn't enough, they need to cause a regime change that gets a selected person with no previous political fame elected. Therefore you can assume the following:
-Assume inability to communicate with superiors
-The seals will be resupplied with weapons, explosives and ammo
-The seals will not be given modern vehicles, biological weapons or more men
-Seals will be given vaccines before hand and have modern medical tools, however due to inability to communicate needs, will only receive standard resupplies
-They may train militia or troops to fight a war for them, but these people will not be given modern weapons
-The seal's will be briefed in era tactics and political climate
So the question is as follows: Do you believe the seals could take over the British Empire (the strongest country in the world at that time), how long would it take and how do you think the most effective way of achieving the goal of placing a puppet dictator in control would take?

So after talking with the wafflecrush guys some the past few days I am now officially playing under their stake for ONLINE play. Live is still on my own dime however it might be something we discuss eventually in the future. The terms of the deal I wont reveal however lets just expect to see me putting in a large volume of online tournaments over the next few months. I'm really excited to do well and haven't been this motivated to play in a long time. I think it's the combination of not having to worry about my roll as well as a chance to prove my ability as a poker player to good players who have a direct interest in how i do.
Also i wanted to do a PLB bet with my friend for this month but he's already in a big one with the pocket 5s challenge along with being in the bahamas and thus not going to put the volume in that he is going to want to if he wants to win the bet. However we will be doing it in february for sure.
WAFFLECRUSHED IMO
had to try it out, feels good
so today i decided to shortstack some 5/10 as i had done it in the past and it's extremly profitable so far. I prefer doing it at full ring, buying in for 200 and just waiting for good hands and making the occasional open raise/resteal. So often players will call you with weak pairs just preying to bust or double you so that you will leave. It's basically alot of times just getting paid $200 to just go away. I play with a 2 buyin stop loss and when i hit it, im done for the next hour. So far i've only hit this twice out of not too many hands. Here are some of the standard hands that go on:

It's pretty simple to wait for hands and you can usually go 2/3 orbits without playing a hand and be fine, also usually in this time you can just steal blinds or resteal like so:

So it's my guilty pleasure to short stack, but i just can't help it, it's like your playing a tournament with normal reshove strategy while the rest of the table is playing the hands like a cash game. They are rolled for the games and will take marginal EV decisions for 1/5 of their buyin. This in turn is very profitable for the short stacker. However because of this game based on aipf strength of hands it can be slightly higher variance however i feel in full ring you can play a tighter game and not have to squeeze so many hands with a particularly wide range. (however if button raises and sb calls, im squeezing 89s all day).
Still either way, off of a total of 55 hands i finished up just under ~$800 on the night short stacking, ez money imo
