It certainly didn't help legitimize it the eyes of people I know, especially since they kept saying online poker is illegal in the U.S. and Canada.
Wasn't the cheating happening before the law to prevent funding of online accounts? If thats the case, then why can't the DOJ get involved with those who are residing in the U.S.?
