Today was a up and down day. Started with 106K, got to $140K, down to $50K, and ended at $142K.

I was at a table with David Oppenheim and Antonio.. and sandwhiched between antonio and another big stack.

I get into a sick hand with David Opp. He had been open raising a lot of pots and being aggresive. So i limp UTG with 56off (yeah i know...) David raises to $1600 and I call. Flop is AJ4. I think for a min like i have a monster and check. he bets $4K and I call. Turn is a 7 and gives me open ended. I check and he best $8800. Any other card and I can get away from it. But i have been representing a big hand and now have a draw. So i call, planning on leading the river no matter what.

The river is an 8 giving me the straight. I know he doesnt have 9T, so I know I have the nuts. I check, he bets $16K and I debate what to bet. I thought about a min raise, but then to get max value, decided on $40K to maybe look like i missed and was buying it. He eventually folded. [[ This is a content summary only. He had a rocky day, going down quite a bit when he got it all in against a shorter stack with a great draw and missed, but later in the evening he made it all back and then some when he flopped a big draw with QTs, got it all in again for his tournament life and hit the straight flush.
Speaking to a group of players and they were talking about my table. Said that there is a good shot they choose it for the TV table.
Once the tables are drawn, ESPN goes through them and decides which one would be the best. I went through the entire 2b list and have to agree, our table, with 2 pros and 4 big stacks would certainly fit.
They also said that you get $10K for wearing a FT or PS logo.. that would rock either way! So.. just have to wait and find out.

So I just sat down at 2/5 maybe 15min ago. I buy $1000 in chips, and look around. Decent stacks, so I put another $1k in cash behind.

5th hand in, I squeeze KK in MP. Raise in front of me to $30. Player next to me had told me he is very aggressive. So I pop it to $100. Tiny asian girl thinks and thinks, almost mucks, and calls. Raiser just calls.
Flop comes K66... Sweeeet!!

Tiny asian girl bets $125, kid calls, Are you serious?? I call.

Turn is 7.
Tiny asian goes all in for about $450, kid calls!! What?? So I look at his stack and he's got about $700 left. Pot is huge and pretty sure he's committed. AK? AA?, So I go all in. He gives a pained look, thinks for about 20seconds and calls. I show my KK. And thankfully no one has 66.

River is a 3.
She shows 33
He shows AA.

15min in and scooped $4100 pot.

While I was just typing this on my BBerry, called a raise on the button with KJ. Pot is $100.
Flop is QT4, raiser bets 30, I call as does tiny asian girl. [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

went to bed at 4:30am and up at 7am. Body thinks its 10am, havent adjusted yet, so time to catch you up on my first day in vegas.

Got in today around 3pm and staying at a friends condo, sweet hookup, no hotel bill! I headed over the the Venetian to play the 8pm $180 deep stack tourny. $5K in starting chips and 30min levels (177 players). Let me just say this was the craziest tourny I have ever played, I was down, then up, then down, then up....

Right off the bat, I am down to $2,000 within the first hour, lovely. But.. the blinds are only 100/200, so not desperate, but not in great shape. I grind that level to about $4k, and when it goes to 100/200 with a 25 ante, I run up from $4K to $20K in 30min. The big hand was..
Got JJ in middle position, raised to $800, and the button goes all in for about $8k, huge overbet and I read him for weak/middle pair, called and he had 99, and im up to about $20K. I lose that hand and i am crippled. phew. [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

QT is one of my fav hands, so limped in early pos w/ Q[s] T[c], 5 players to the limped flop. Flop is J[s] 9[s] 8[h], bingo! I dont like the 2 spades, so I bet out a pot bet of $50 and get one caller (SB). Turn is a red 4. SB checks, I bet out $125 and he calls. 3[s] on the river and he leads out for $400. UGH.. I fold face up and he shows A[s] 5[s]

so gross. Did I missplay the turn? If I put him on the flush draw (which I did), should I have bet something bigger like $250 into the $150 pot?

I have never, ever, ever been bent over and f’d as hard as I have today. I was up $1K yesterday playing 2/5 here at Borgata and played well. Was really excited for the $2K deep stack.

So.. We started w/ 30k chips and 50min levels. No major hands but chipped up to 36K when this came up. Blinds are 50/100, in the BB with Ad4d, MP makes it $350, 2 callers in front of me, I call. Flop is Kd2d7c. I check, original MP makes it $800, both fold and I call. Turn is 8d giving me the nut flush. I bet out $2200 and he calls. 2h on the river, I bet out 5K, he makes it 10K, and I am sick. Can I fold?? I can’t, I call and he shows KK for a full house. Can you fold here??

Next..
Same AdXd in SB and with 5 limpers, so I limp as does BB. Flop is 8d9d5s, I check (Should I have led out here???) someone bets 400 with 3 callers and I call.. Turn is 5c, and checked around.. Jd on river, I bet out $1500 and get raised to $5K. [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

$2K buy in, $30,000 chips and 50min levels day 1, 60min levels day 2 and 3.

I have been playing very well and my game has def gone up a notch. I am making reads and making plays I have never made and my results show that its working. If you read LAKONGS blog, I cashed at the Bike $300 w/ 1RB, went out in 14th out of 137 with 19 spots getting paid. I took lots of sick beats and have no idea how I made the money.

I played the Hustler Thursday night deep stack 2 days later (5k chips,25min levels) 103 players, final table gets paid. 6 players left I am in BB with $75K (blinds are 6/12k with 1500 ante). Folds to SB who shoves for a total of $60K. I hate this spot, but know I am ahead so I call. He has 94 and flops a 9. Out on next hand when I have $6k left after posting $6K SB and ante. Paid $1025 for a $255 buy-in, so I am happy that I cashed and played well.

I finally decided to start really tracking my wins/losses, and since 3/31 I am up over $5K (all live). [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

So if you read my last post.. this next hand happened the following week. First some set up.. The hand was being discussed quite a bit, so 72 was def on peoples minds.

I got 72 in the BB. UTG raises to $15. This is a new player to the group but I have figured him out a bit. He loves to slow play his big hands. I have seen him limp in any position with AA, KK, AK, to which several people chastise him for not protecting his hand (he lost AA to 8T when he didnt raise pre-flop). So now his raise lets me know he has a big hand. 2 people call and I ask him, do you have AA again? He says yes. Then he says, "nah.. I only have 1 Ace". the way he said it, i beleived him. He has AK, AQ, AJ and maybe AT. I decide to just call and see the flop.

Flop is 972 and I check. He bets $20 into a pot of $62, smells weak to me! I know he could have AA, though I just don't think he does. I decide to call and make sure the turn isn't a scare card for me before deciding what to do. [[ This is a content summary only.
We added the "72 (seven duece)" to our home game the same way they do on HSP, except we only pay $5 (2/5 game). We have seen our fair share or winners and losers, but I have been waiting patiently to make this play. Let me start by saying that all the 72s that have won, were on big pre-flop raises or big flop bets/raises. So....

I get dealt AA in the SB (BINGO!) and knew immediately what I was going to do, as I have been waiting for months to make this play. UTG limps in, as do 4 others putting the pot at $32. I raise to $45, UTG folds and next person who had limped eyes me funny. I KNOW he thiks I have 72, which is why i raised the way I did, just to make it look that way. He calls as does 1 other. Now.. this guy that called me loves to play back at me, cause I have pulled some big bluffs on him and shown it. Plus, he has adopted a new style of being very aggressive, betting at everything to test you, but he doesn't know when to back off (does it get any better than this??
Played both FTOPS events today and had bad beats on both to bust out. I know suckouts happen, but I cannot win on FT no matter what. I have never done well there and after FTOPS (already won seat to #19) I am done with FT for good.
First was KK vs. JJ and caught a J.
Second was top set vs. nut flush, and he hits runner runner straight!

I know "it happens", but I see more beats that are against the odds on FT than on PS or UB.

WCOOP #14 - Interesting hand

Played the WCOOP #14 $1050 event the other day and had an interesting hand..

Raised to 600 in early position woth 6[h] 8[h] (my first mistake) and player next to act calls and everyone else folds. Its early in the event and we both have about $15K in chips and the blinds are 100/200. Flop is 7[h] 9[h] x, flopped an open eneded straight flush draw. I fire $1200 and he calls, I put him on the flush draw at this point.
Turn is a K, I fire approx. $2500 into $3900 pot and again and he calls. River is a Q. Missed my flush and my straight. I know my 8 high is no good at this point, so I had to decide if I was going to fire or check/fold. He just kept calling so I know he missed his flush too. If he has the A[h] with a J,T,8,6 or lower I think I can get him off the hand. If he has AK he may or may not call with just TPTK. If he has AQ, he has a harder time calling with the K on the board.
So.. went to Vegas for Rolling Stone’s 40th anniversary weekend bash and it was sick! Snoop Dog Friday night, 50 Cent and Kanye on Saturday night. It was amazing. But.. we are here talk poker…

I am at the 2/5 table for a while and the table sucks. There are only 2 – 5/10 tables and I am waiting to get there. The table I am at is pretty ABC and no one was really messing around. I stole lots of little pots when the action was checked to me, but nothing exciting. I finally get moved and add-on to the $1000 max.

I am up to $1130 and in late position. UTG+2 raises to $50, gets 1 caller and its folded around to me and I squeeze KK. I raise to $180 and then he re-raises me back for $200 on top. I have only been here for an orbit or two and he was def an action player, calling to see lots of flops and firing bets if checked to him. I go all-in and he insta calls and turns over AA.
SHIT! Just my freakin luck..

Flop comes…. K4K!! Ain't that a bitch! [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

I don't claim to be the best player, but I am def. top 2-3 at my home game, i win consistantly there. We have a WSOP pool going, each week we start with a $150 tourny, with 2-$100RB during the 1st 3 levels (10min). We take $600 out each week and by next May we will have enough to send 2 to the WSOP plus $2K travel, plus some $$ for 3-5th. I am currently in 1st and have cashed in the tourny 8 times (2-1st, 3-2nd, 3-3rd) for 62%. Not bad at all.

Then we go to a $1/$2 game with a $200 max, then $2/$5 at 10pm with a $400 max. There can easily be $5K in play, not bad for a small home game. The other night, this hand came up:
Late night action, 3-handed I have a little over $1000 in front of me

Here is the deal.. I have an incredibly loose/crazy/bluffer image with this group. I play a lot of garbage for cheap and when I hit..… I also raise with garbage and throw out either a check-raise with or bet out, but then show my hands. [[ This is a content summary only.
So played again the next day and again got up to $60k in chips.

Early on got very lucky when all in with 44 vs. 99 and flopped a set. Flopped a set of 6's on a T high board vs. QQ and won a big pot.

On the button, i get Q3 suited and with 4 limpers in front of me, I call. Flop comes Q99 adn everyony checks to me and I bet, folds around to last player who thinks for a while and shoves all in for about $10K (I bet $2K). I thought for a while, asked him if he hit the 9. obv. this is a great bluffing board and a great move if he doens't put me on the 9. I fold and turn my Q face up.

2 hands later, same scenario. Bunch of limpers and I call with AT, flop comes Txx, and it's checked around to me again and I bet. Folds around to the same player who just went all in, and again he thinks. I am talking up a storm. "Cmon.. you hit the T?" "no way you hit that" "you serious, you really hit the T?", he goes all in and I call, he turns over A9 and I win the pot. [[ This is a content summary only.
Played the $550 deepstack at Venetian on 6/13 and did well. Started with $10K in chips and my table was very aggressive and lots of good players (1 made final table, 1 made final 2 tables).
Player that made final table was very agressive and bet at every flop no matter what. I didn't get any cards of note the first two levels so I was able to observe the table. I knew that if I hit a flop and checked to the agressive player (3 to my left), he would bet and I could check raise and get some extra $$$ from him.

I win some uneventful and small pots but nothing to write about. We are up to the 4th level and I am getting short stacked ($5K in chips). I go on a sick run, and by the dinner break I have $60K chips and the avg stack is $25K. Again, no really interesting hands or any hard decisions. AA vs. QQ and won, AK vs. AQ and won.

After the break, here is the hand that crushed me, and know I played wrong. [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

Playing Full Tilt FTOPS #6, $200 short handed. Made some great bluffs, got some great cards.. had great table image, allowed me to steal a ton. 2,555 entered, top 306 make the money.
I have $19K chips and am about 140th with just over 400+ left.
While in the SB, I have raised the BB 3 or 4 times out of 6-7 times, but had big hands everytime. AT, AK, AK, QQ. So I am sure he is getting annoyed. He has me covered and has $27K chips.

So... I get QQ in the SB and everyone folds around to me (blinds are 250/500) so I make it 1,800 (wanted to go a little bigger than 3x raise to maybe have him think I am stealing, and he will re-raise me with a worse hand)

He just calls. [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

Was playing $5/$10NL at GreekTown Casino in Detroit, sat with $2K. Crazy table with lots of raising to $60 - $75 pre-flop, and the hands shown down were less than impressive. I have been playing well but was 2nd best all F'n night. Had QQ... he had KK. Had AQ.. he had AK.. Had TJ, flop came 89Q with two clubs, I make a small bet, everyone folds. One of those nights.. Until..

Limped in MP with 22, a few callers, BB makes it $75 to go (he is nuts!) and I call as does 2 others. Flop comes T62 rainbow (SWEET!) and BB fires out $200 into $300 pot. I peek at my cards.. make a fake move like I wanna muck.. think some more and call, others fold.

Turn.... a 2!! I look sad like I missed my guthsot. He fires $400 into $700 pot and again I agonize and just call. There are now 2 clubs on the board, so hoping he thinks I picked up flush draw with straight draw, or I have counterfitted 2pr.

Headed down to Atlantic City this weekend to play in the $1500 NL tourney at the Borgata. It was brutal. Was 2nd best all weekend, KK ran into AA, 555 ran into TTT, but I did make one sick play. Got AA and raised, got 2 callers, flop came 973, I bet, fold, then got raised, I re-raised, he went all in. Took me a while, eventually folded ,and he showed 77. Last hand that sent me packing was KK in MP, I raised and got 2 callers, flop came TJQ with 2 clubs, I only had $300 left so I went all in and of course he had QQ, and I missed all my outs.

Honestly.. game was not that tough, the hands people were calling down were horrible, I was just card dead. I don’t know if I have ever seen cards that bad ever. K2, A5off, 73… just nasty, fold, fold, fold… I was a folding station. Got AA one time in BB and everyone folded around to me, FUCK!

I was at 2/5 and got AA 3 times, flopped a set all 3 times and got zero action. Just one of those runs.

So was playing the $3/$6 on PS the other day when this doozy came up. The MP2 player was Loose-Agressive, playing too many pots, and betting hard on everything. if people missed, they would fold and not play back at him. He had gone to the river a few times and shown some marginal hands.

We are 7 handed and he raises to $18, standard 3x raise, the Button calls, and I have QQ in the SB. Raise? Call? I decided to raise to $50 as MP2 could have anything including AJ - Ax, and since the Button just called, I figured he would fold to a raise and had just called with a marginal hand to see the flop.

Let me just say now, I screwed this hand up good and got lucky. Don't think I don't know it!

MP2 raises me to $150, the button folds (as expected) and I go all in and he called...

Bad Beat?? Hard to say

So here's the deal, I am playing the PStars $150 tourney on 11/30, I am short stacked and look down at 33 in the SB. Everyone folds to Seat #2 MP player (who just lost most of his chips on a river suckout to Seat #9) and he goes all in. Everyone folds around to me, and I think:

1. I am short stacked (10 BB left)
2. He just lost a pot and is steaming
3. He def. has 2 overs = only 6 outs
4. I am ahead 57/43

I am 99% sure I am ahead with my pair, so he has 6 outs. I am OK with that since I am short stacked, and decide that I am either going to double up and get back in the mix, or I'm out and that's ok with me.
So I call...

PokerStars Game #7246273009: Tournament #36312336, $150+$12 Hold'em No Limit - Level V (75/150) - 2006/11/30 - 22:08:50 (ET) Table '36312336 108' 9-max
Seat #5 is the button
