  Our quick thoughts
GamesGrid Poker is an offshoot of a popular backgammon site. Launched in 2005, the site offers a stunning interface that, while not feature-rich, is enjoyable to play. To date, traffic on the site is minimal, but at peak hours you can find low dollar limit and NL action. Note: the site spreads a dealer's choice game in which players pick the game played on their deal; it's a great idea; we wish the major sites would copy the concept. If you're a tournament player, note that MTT traffic is light and SnGs take forever to seat; there are, though, occasional freerolls for regular players and many of the MTTs offer overlays of 25+%. Note: SnGs start once three players have been seated; they offer 10 minute level times and pay 1 spot. The lobby could be improved; there's no table info (flop%s, avg pot, etc.) to aid game selection. Then again, there are only a few games to choose from. The site has a great cashier window; it's easy to see and track your bonus status. There's a Mac download available. If GamesGrid promoted their site and brought more traffic, we think it would quickly become a popular site.

Ring game play clears bonus? yes
For every 5 frequent player point you earn, Games Grid will pay you $1. You earn roughly 1/2 point for a $1 raked hand; figure 10 raked hands to clear $1, 1000 raked hands to clear $100. Your deposit bonus will expire ater 365 days if you haven't cleared it.
Tournament play clears bonus? yes
You need to earn 5 frequent player points to clear $1 of bonus; $100 of bonus money will require 500 fpps. You get 2 fpps for each $1 of tournament entry fee paid. Therefore, you need to pay $2.50 of entry fees to clear $1 of bonus ($250 to clear $100). Put differently, 250 $10 sit n gos will clear $100 of bonus money. Note: this equates to a 40% rebate during the bonus period.

  What we liked
- Stunning, speedy interface
- Dealer's choice games and tournaments
- Action is easy to follow and recap
- Nice cashier page; easy to track your bonus status
  What we didn't like
- Off-peak, the site is a ghost town
- No sit n go traffic to speak of
- The interface offers relatively few options (sound, notes, seat position)
- There's no table info from the lobby to aid game selection
Why you should play the site
- GamesGrid offers a 200% match ($400 max) deposit bonus
- You'll dig the stunning, unique interface
- The dealer's choice tables are a blast
- The MTTs are small but often have overlays
- The site offers a Mac-compatible download
  For the ring game player
- The hand history (available from the cashier window) isn't fancy, but it gets the job done
- You can multi-table, but you'll be playing several different games and limits
  For the tournament player
- The SnGs start when 3 players have entered; the structure is 800-1000 chips depending on the buy-in with 10 minute levels
- Sit n gos take over 10 minutes to seat even at peak times
- Check the MTT schedule; the guaranteed tournaments often offer overlays
- MTTs typically start with 1500 chips and have 10 minute levels
  For the value player
- The site offers freerolls to its regular players
- The MTTs are small but often offer guaranteed prize pools and a 20+% overlay
  Insider tips
- Play the dealer's choice table; it breaks up the monotony
- Try the dealer's choice MTT; not many guys can play hold 'em, omaha hi/lo, razz, stud, etc. with equal skill
- The dealer's choice MTT has a $5 buy-in, $100 gtd prize pool and usually draws <20 entrants

  Software review
It's too bad Games Grid isn't a more highly trafficked site because we think players would find the stunning interface highly enjoyable to play. The circular table is a nice alternative to the usual oval presentation, the graphics are clear and the action is exceptionally easy to follow. In addition, pot and bet amounts are visible, the betting buttons are easy to interpret and the chat window gives a nice recap of the action. The site also offers clear hand histories, available from the cashier window. On the negative side, there are relatively few options (sound, seat position, player notes), the site doesn't offer custom player images, a 4-color deck or session stats. Games Grid offers a Mac download, one of the few sites to do so.
  Hand histories
Hand histories are available from the cashier window; only your last 100 hand histories are available. As of Jan 06, there's no PokerTracker support for Games Grid.
